Phyllis Snapp Obituary

Phyllis J. Snapp passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Laurels of New London. She was 83.

Phyllis was born May 31, 1934 in Mansfield at her Aunt Blanche and Uncle John Biggs' house. She was a lifelong resident of the Greenwich area. Phyllis graduated as Valedictorian of North Fairfield High School in 1952. She played cornet and was first chair in High School Band. She worked many years for the Shelby Depot and later for South Central Schools from which she retired after 40 years.

She was a member of the Greenwich United Methodist Church. Phyllis enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was also the choir director at the church for many years.

Phyllis had many joys in her life including her family, canning, cooking, horses and tractors. She valued working on the family farm for many years. It was always evident that Phyllis adored her family and was dedicated to them. She loved to sit and read in her spare time.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim Morrow of Amherst, Cheryl (Randy) Hord of Willard and Rhonda (Chad) McClintock of Greenwich; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Lymer, Brittany (Jonathan) Kunisch, Arielle (Joshua) Berletich and Aimee (Jason) Poth; great-grandchildren, Mason, Morgan and Madison Lymer, Arya Kunisch, Brantley and Aubree Poth and Adalynn Berletich and siblings, Darryl (Doris) Edwards of Greenwich, Duane (Karen) Edwards of Greenwich, Laurel Edwards of Sullivan, Irene (John) Bash of Norwalk, Faye Hale of Plymouth.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Chester H. Edwards; mother, Delores Edwards Clair; sister, Joyce Edwards and son-in-law, Terry Shultz.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 15th, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Eastman Funeral Home in Greenwich where a service will be held Saturday at 11:00AM with Pastor Lori Douglas-Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
