On Monday, June 4, 2018, Richard P. Tritt overcame this world and rests peacefully in the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was 78. Richard was born on July 4, 1939, son of the late Frank and Helen (nee Clouse) Tritt.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family and grandchildren.
He grew up in Youngstown and attended Wilson High School. Richard lived most of his life in Akron and worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He retired from the company in 1997 after 35 years.
Richard was active in Deaf Ministry and Men's Ministry at the Akron Calvary Church of the Deaf. He served on the Church Board and sign choir. Richard was a member of the Akron Club of the Deaf and played on many of the sports teams. Since 2009, he was a member of the North Fairfield Assembly of God. Richard also served on the board of the community center, "The Outlet" in North Fairfield.
Richard was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved playing golf, basketball, baseball, bowling, pool and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and camping. He was known for his jokes, storytelling and passion for sharing Deaf culture and American Sign Language
He is survived by his loving wife Linda (nee Stepancik), they would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 11th; daughter, Mary (Joseph) Green of North Fairfield; grandchildren, Joshua (fiancé, Rebekah Smith) Green, Lauren (David Perdan) Green, Caleb Green and Rebekah Green; siblings, Dorothy Wilson of Ohio, Grace Dyce of PA and Jim Tritt of SC and close family friends, Matt Gurka and Daniel Lunt.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold, Fred, Bill, Ruth and Tom Tritt
A memorial visitation for Richard will be held at the North Fairfield Assembly of God, 107 East Main Street, North Fairfield on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6-8 pm and Saturday from 3-4 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 4 pm with Rev. Joseph Green officiating.
Memorial contributions in Richard's honor can be given to "The Outlet" in North Fairfield or the North Fairfield A/G Building Fund, PO Box 186, North Fairfield, Ohio 44855. Flowers may be brought directly to the North Fairfield Assembly of God.
