Walter Yaworsky, 77, of Wakeman passed away November 19, 2017 at the Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain after battling cancer. He was born August 14th, 1940 in Parma, Ohio and moved to Wakeman as a child. He was a graduate of Townsend-Wakeman High School and Baldwin-Wallace Business School. He enjoyed farming and working with numbers from an early age and put it to good use as the bookkeeper for the Wakeman Lumberyard. He was also worked at Bendix- Westinghouse in Elyria until they closed, and enjoyed bulldozing in his spare time. Driving truck for the steel mill kept him busy during the farming off months for several years as well.
His family was very special to him and he seldom missed an opportunity to spend time with them. He attended a variety of school, 4-H, and church events to see them participate. He is survived by his children, Joanna (Chad) Stanforth of Mascoutah, Illinois and John (Angie) Yaworsky of Wakeman; six grandchildren, Nathan and Arianna Stanforth; Austin, Amanda, Julia and Justin Yaworsky; sisters, Jane Bartow and Anna Beck of Norwalk; brothers, Mike, Steve, and Peter Yaworsky of Wakeman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Yaworsky, and sister, Nina Yaworsky.
A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family at Calvary Baptist Church in Oberlin on Saturday, November 25th, 2017 at 12:00 pm.
