Gene A. Geiger, age 63, of New London, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Fisher Titus Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born June 1, 1944 in Norwalk, son of the late Marcellus and Marcella (Miller) Geiger He was a 1962 New London High School graduate and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by F.E. Myers, Ashland and later worked at Delphi, Sandusky, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the U.A.W. Union and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London. He is survived by his wife Karol Rose (Grubb) Geiger, whom he married May 22, 1965; his daughters, Heidi Rose and Michael Boyd of Findlay, Amanda Susan and Dale McClaflin of New London, OH, Grandson Lear Alexander McClaflin; 3 brothers, Gerry Allen and Jo Geiger of Berthoud, Co, Kevin John and Cheri Geiger of Pataskala, OH, Rick Carl and Karen Geiger of Mansfield, OH; 1 sister, Sue Ann and Greg Smiley of Worthington, OH; 1 sister in law, Kathy Mezick; 9 nieces, Valerie Miller, Lara Ernstine, Kirsten Olivet, Sarah Geiger, Ann Geiger, Mindy Beery, Kim Caldwell, Missy McComb, Heather Johnson; 3 nephews, Marc Smiley, Heath White, Jason White; 7 great nieces, Paige Smiley, Emma Beery, Katherine, Elisabeth and Samantha Brendle, Bryanna and Emily White; 5 great nephews, Asher Olivet, Johnathan and Nicholas Brendle, Miklos White, Travis Beery. Preceeded in death by nephew Eric Marcellus Geiger and great nephew Connor Beery. Friends may call from 4 ' 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London, with Prayer service at 7 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11: 00 a.m., Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London with Rev. Doug Taylor officiating.
