Aaron B. Leid, 70, of Shelby, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at his residence. Born November 7, 1941, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, and resided in Shelby for the past 39 years.
He was a farmer and a member of the Pleasant Dale Mennonite Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alta (Martin); children, Alfred (Grace) Leid of Willard, Sharon Leid of Pennsylvania, Nelson (Reba) Leid of Greenwich, Sandra Burkholder of Greenwich, Charles (Susan) Leid of Willard, Aaron Leid, Jr. of Shelby, Joanna (Gary) Shirk of Greenwich and James Leid of Shiloh; 31 grandchildren; 7 brothers and 1 sister. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Anna (Burkholder) Leid; brother, Norman Leid, Jr.; son-in-law, Lavern Burkholder; grandson, Merle Leid and granddaughter, Iva Dawn Leid.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Wednesday at the Leid's, 6894 Bowman Road, Shelby. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am, Thursday at Pleasant Dale Mennonite Church, Old State Road, ' mile south of 224, Willard. Burial will follow at Pleasant Dale Mennonite Cemetery.
