Ada K. Gardner, age 87, of New London, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at Lutheran Memorial Home in Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
Ada was born July 15, 1923 in Margaretta Twp., daughter of the late, Jessie & Catherine (Bostater) Sanders. She graduated from Margaretta High School and married Frank E. Gardner in 1941. Ada resided in New London most of her life.
Ada worked many jobs while raising her family. She owned and operated Crumrine Dry Cleaning in New London and worked at C.E. Wards, Thomas Creative Apparel and Kent Sporting Goods all of New London. Ada enjoyed bingo, bowling and traveling.
Ada is survived by sons, Charles (Betty) of Sandusky, Ralph (Bonnie) of New London and Mark (Ruth) of Sandusky; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a sister, Jeanie Edwards of Mansfield. She was preceded by her husband Frank in 1972; a son, Harold in 2009; granddaughter, Lori in 2008; great grandson, Tyler in 1993 and a sister and brother.
A graveside service will be held 7 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Grove Street Cemetery, New London. Rev. Cathy Ake will officiate and memorials if desired may be given to the New London United Methodist Church, 58 East Main St., New London or the Lutheran Memorial Home, 795 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky, OH 44870. Eastman Funeral Home, New London is in charge of arrangements.
