Obituary

Alberta F. Fagert, 84, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at her home. She was born January 26, 1924 in Mabe, Virginia, daughter of the late Asbury and Emmajane (Baker) Fields. Alberta lived in Stockport, Ohio for 13 years and in Ashland since 1956. Alberta worked at the former Faultless Rubber Co. (Abbott Lab) in Ashland. She attended the Ashland Baptist Temple. She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Mullet Bauckman of Savannah, Arzella Phillips Harper of Ashland and Evelyn Counts of Mt. Gilead; her sons, Leonard Dingus and Lawrence Dingus, both of Ashland; stepdaughter, Nancy Crall of Mansfield; stepson, Gary Fagert of Ashland, 15 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Alberta is also survived by her brothers, Corbin Calton of Tennessee, Doyl Calton, and Robert Calton and her sisters, Jean Dorton and Margie Calton, all of Gate City, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Ritchey in 1975, her second husband, William H. Fagert in 1991 and two brothers, William Tivis Fields and Norman Calton. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London with Rev. Wayne Mullet officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Ashland Baptist Temple, 1023 Elm St., Ashland, OH 44805.
