Obituary

Alex John Carson, 75, of Wellington, died Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Allan Memorial Hospital in Oberlin. Born on November 2, 1946, in Cleveland, he was the son of the late John and Francis (nee Cerne) Carson. Alex spent his youth in Cleveland and graduated from Holy Name High School.

Following graduation, Alex served in the United States Army. Alex and his family eventually made their home in Olmsted Falls where they raised their children. In 1992 he and his wife moved to Dallas, TX where he worked for the Nissan Corporation in Financing. Alex later moved to Cincinnati where he retired from Nissan after 21 years. Following retirement, Alex and Barbara traded in their home for an RV and set about traveling the country, setting up a home base in Arizona. Alex truly enjoyed traveling and meeting people across the country. In their travels, Alex and Barbara became involved in the National Horseshoe Pitching Association, and he had pitched horseshoes in all but 8 States.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara (nee Campbell) Carson; children, Brian (Lisa) Carson, of Cleveland, Douglas (Leslie) Carson, of Amherst, and Keith (Meredith) Carson, of Surprise, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, James Carson, of Green Valley, AZ, Marlene Carson and Wayne Baker, both of Jefferson City, MO. Alex was preceded in death by his brother John Carson.

A burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
