ALICE ADAMS
b. 1929 – d. 2026
Alice was a wonderful, caring person who made a deep impression on everyone who had the good fortune to know her.
She was born in Wellington, Ohio on December 6, 1929, the youngest daughter of Mary and Charles Bishbaugh. She grew up in a loving home with her sister Isabel, who was born nine years earlier. Mary introduced music to Alice, who played piano, trumpet, and French horn during her high school years.
Alice graduated from Wellington High School in 1947. She attended the Huron Road Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN pin in 1950. In 1951, Alice married Kenneth Adams, her high school sweetheart, and worked at the White Cross Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. After Kenneth graduated from Pharmacy School at The Ohio State University in 1953, they spent two years in Tampa, Florida at MacDill Air Force Base, where Kenneth worked as a military medical supply officer.
Following Kenneth’s service, they relocated to Columbus to raise their family of three children. Kenneth owned and operated Adams Pharmacy, and Alice spent many years working there with him. She later worked as an Interior Design Specialist at the Seraph, an antique reproduction store in Delaware County, Ohio.
Alice’s main interests included gourmet cooking, visiting historic landmarks, and collecting antiques. She fostered a love of music with her three children, often accompanying them on the piano. Foremost, she loved being a wife and mother. Late in life she reminded her children that they were the joy of her life. Alice passed away on June 26, 2026, following a brief illness.
Alice is survived by children Eugene Adams, Valorie Adams-Hildreth (James), and Kristy Adams, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Kenneth Adams, parents Mary and Charles Bishbaugh, stepmother Wanda Bishbaugh, mother and father-in law Oren and Delta Adams, sister Isabel Nolte, sister-in-law Shirley Behnke Kaufmann, and numerous brothers-in-law.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
