IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amanda E.
Hicks
March 29, 1987 – June 7, 2024
Amanda E. Hicks, 37, of Ashland and formerly of Wellington, passed away unexpectedly from congestive heart failure on the way to the hospital on June 7, 2024.
On March 29, 1987, Amanda was born in Elyria to the late Robert W. Hicks and Mary E. (nee Franklin) Hicks. Amanda grew up in Wellington before she moved to Ashland in 2018.
She accomplished a lot of things in her life, including her 9 years of sobriety, in which time she bought her first home two years ago and regained custody of her older two children.
Her biggest love was horseback riding and that was where she seemed at peace with the world. Amanda dreamed of owning a horse farm and working with horses full-time. She also enjoyed going to Cedar Point and Busch Gardens with her family, riding all the biggest coasters.
Amanda is survived by her three beautiful kids, Lucas, Clorice, and Travis; mother, Mary Hicks; brother, Michael (Christina); grandparents, Darlene Franklin and Elizabeth Hicks; uncles, David Franklin, James "Jim" Franklin, and Tim (Jennifer) Hicks; nieces and nephews, Noela, Michael Jr., Ariella, Anastasia; and cousins Maya and Austin Hicks. Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hicks; an infant brother; aunt, Roseanne Brown; grandparents, David "Poppy" Franklin and Donald "Ronka" Hicks; and great grandparents, Courtney and Christine Franklin, LaRae and Ersel Mullins, Harry and Beulah Hicks and Anna and Michael Lacko.
A visitation will be held at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington on Thursday, June 13 from 11:00 am until the 2:00 pm funeral service with Pastor Chuck Livermore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
