Amanda Marie Lemke Phelps, 32, of Wellington died September 24, 2018. Born on August 2, 1986, in Oberlin, she was the daughter of William and Judy (nee Smith) Lemke. Amanda was a 2004 graduate of Wellington High School and a lifelong resident of Wellington. Amanda worked for NASA at Glenn Research Center through the HUNCH program, where she taught new skills to high school students. She was dedicated to her job and traveled all over the country with the program. She was inspired everyday by her students and was dedicated to always helping others. She had compassion for animals and could instantly create a bond with them. She was intelligent, strong, kind and had a heart of gold. Amanda will be remembered for all of these qualities and so much more by all of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her parents; brother, Justin (Kate) Lemke; sister, Jennifer Lemke; nieces, Hannah and Abigail Lemke; and nephew, Robert Lemke; she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lillian and John Lemke, Robert Smith; and niece, Amelia Lemke. A private family burial was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Norton-Eastman Funeral Home.
