Amos A. Albright, 88, a lifelong Norwalk resident, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 29 at Norwalk Memorial Home. Born on June 24, 1930 in Norwalk, Amos was the son of the late Amos F. and Bertha (nee Robinson) Albright. He was a Norwalk High School graduate. A construction worker by trade, Amos worked for Bud Brady before owning and operating Amos Albright Builders. He built many fine homes in Norwalk and the surrounding areas over the years. Following retirement, Amos worked as a runner for Janotta & Herner, he enjoyed being a bagger at Gardner's Grocery and was a Crossing Guard for Norwalk City Schools. Amos was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he served as head usher and on the church council. He liked hunting and fishing in his youth and enjoyed playing cards and square dancing with his family. Amos made hundreds of birdhouses, which he donated to his grandchildrens' classmates. He found great pleasure in watching his grandchildren's sporting events and volunteering at their schools. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Vera; children, Vickie (Chuck) Hemenway, of Norwalk, Adam (Jodye) Albright, of Norwalk, Allen Albright, of Norwalk, and Aaron (Davina) Albright, of Dayton; 12 grandchildren, Ryan (Eden), Alex (Marie), Amos, Andy (Becca), Taylor, Jacob, Avery, Audrey, Zach, Grace, Paige and Evan; and a great grandson, Abel and another great grandson on the way. Amos was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mardell Beeble. Family and friends may call on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk.
