Amy L. Smith, 73, of New London, died Monday, September 19, 2011 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. She was born April 25, 1938, in Floyd, KY to the late Adis and Minnie (Hicks) Shepherd. Amy moved to Ohio in 1948, she lived in Savannah and moved to New London in 1961. She worked at the former McMillian and Ward Company and most recently worked for Thomas Creative Apparel. Amy was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include her 3 sons, Jeff (Lisa) Smith of Willard, Brad Smith of Mansfield and Carl Smith of New London; 5 grandchildren and siblings, Mreadith (Ron) Spoerr of Shiloh, Ethel (Don) Welter of Olivesburg, Geneva (Henry) Calame of Greenwich, Larby (Virgil) Dye of Shiloh, Gevone (Charles) Bailey of Nova, Clyde Shepherd of Shiloh and David (Karen) Shepherd of Polk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore in 1997. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London where a service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery.
