With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Amy Jo Gahring, age 58, of North Fairfield, who left this world after a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy. Born on October 1, 1966, Amy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and community member who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Amy spent more than 20 years working with dedication at Circon ACMI, where she formed cherished friendships and made a lasting impact. Beyond her professional career, she devoted 23 years to serving on the village council, where her kindness, wisdom, and commitment to the community shone through.
Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally and spoiled endlessly. She valued family and family gatherings, where laughter, warmth, and togetherness filled every moment. She found peace and happiness on family trips to the lake house, creating precious memories filled with laughter and love. Amy was a wonderful friend and confidante, known for her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering optimism. She had an incredible gift for seeing the best in everyone and bringing out the best in those around her.
Amy is survived by her devoted husband, Ben Gahring, of 39 years; her loving children, Kali (Levi) Beck and Dustin Gahring; and her adored grandchildren, Mya, Caden, Kenton, Jagger, Lennox, and Bennett. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Barb (Doug) Fidler and Steffany Conaway; her cherished in-laws, Jim and Jeri Gahring, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a great-nephew, all of whom she cherished deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rod and Betty Williams, and her dear niece, Tristan Conaway, who remain forever in her heart.
Amy's kindness, compassion, and joy for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and friendship lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
