Andrew Robert Fetchik, 98, of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Elms Retirement Village after a lengthy illness. He was born to the late Bertha (nee Telepanich) and Joseph Fetchik in Gates, Pa. on November 16, 1918. Andrew graduated from John Adams High School in Cleveland and proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps. He took a job with Cleveland transit as a trolley driver and worked his way up to the Project Supervisor for RTA. Andrew was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing and spending time in his garden. Andrew and his wife loved to travel and had visited 6 of the 7 continents. Among the places they have seen are the Nile, the Pyramids, and boating on the Amazon. Andrew is also in the Garfield Heights Baseball Hall of Fame for Managing Little League teams. Survivors include his children Philip (Sandra) Fetchik, of Australia, Susan (Joseph) Forgacs, of Wellington; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Fetchik, of Harbor Creek, PA; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a sister Mary Pavlick, of Brunswick. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Susan Fetchik and son, Andrew Fetchik,Jr. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, July 23, from 4-7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, at Saint Patrick Church, 512 North Main Street, Wellington, beginning at 11 a.m. burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
