Andy S. Takacs, Sr., 75, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Camden Township on December 15, 1934, Andy was the son of the late John and Julia (nee Molnar) Takacs. He graduated from Camden High School in 1952 and lived in both the Camden and Brighton areas throughout his life. Andy owned trucking businesses and farmed for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wellington and the Ohio and National Holstein Associations. He loved the outdoors and working in the fields. Andy also enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marlene; daughter, Julia (Dan Meyer) Takacs of Wellington; sons, Andy S. Takacs, Jr. and John Takacs, both of Wellington; 2 grandchildren, April (Ray) Bremke and Devin Gearheart; a great grandson, Colton Bremke and his sister, Irene of Amherst. Andy was preceded in death by his brother, John and two infant sisters.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Friends will also be received on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington.
