Anita M. McQuate, 65, of Lorain died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 5, 1946 in Buffalo, New York to Albert and Alberta (nee Schmidt) Brown. Anita moved with her family to Ohio when she was 9 and she graduated from Lorain High School in 1965.
Anita worked for Mercy Medical for 25 years in their billing department. She was an avid camper, spending most of the summer at Rustic Lake campground with friends and family. She liked playing bingo and spending time at her computer. She was skilled at needle work, especially crocheting and cross stitching. Most of all Anita held dear the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren.
Anita is survived by her loving husband of 23 years Robert McQuate; her children Joe Pugh of Lorain, Thomas (Nichole) Pugh of Amherst, Eric (Maggie) McQuate and Ann McQuate both of Columbus, and Mark McQuate of Dayton; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by her mother Alberta Brown of Lorain and brothers Gordon Brown of Norwalk, Jerry and Fred Brown both of Lorain. Anita was preceded in death by her Father Albert.
Anita's family will celebrate her life in the spring with a gathering at Rustic Lake Campground.
