Anthony George Marley, 76, of Wellington died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at EMH. He was born at his home in Wellington on October 14, 1932 to the late Frank and Mary (nee Corriggio) Marley. Anthony graduated from Wellington High School in 1950. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Navy from 1952-1956 on a Sea Air Craft Carrier.
Anthony worked for 28 years at the Sterling Factory as a foreman. For years, Anthony was the bartender for the Wellington Eagles Club. He was a lifetime member of the Wellington American Legion, the Wellington VFW and the Wellington Eagles. Anthony was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Anthony loved to fish. He was a wonderful grandpa who treasured every moment spent with his grandkids.
Survivors include his children, Frank (Regina) Marley of Wellington and Connie Squire of Elyria; four grandchildren, Nicholas Squire, Michael Marley, Macy Marley and Meagan Bailey. Anthony is also survived by his siblings, Marian Hoffman of Homerville, Kay Marley of Amherst, Carl Marley of Wellington and William Marley of Avon Lake. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Allan and a sister, Theresa.
A family visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the family service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington with military rites. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Wellington Eagles, 228 N. Main St., Wellington, OH 44090.
