Anthony R. "Tony" Brummitt, of Vermilion, Ohio, and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at Admirals Pointe Nursing Home in Huron, Ohio, at the age of 66. Tony was born on January 17, 1958, in Norwalk, to the late Yvonne Smith and Burnice Brummitt. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1976.

Tony served his country for more than 20 years as a member of the United States Army. He also served in the Army National Guard. After his retirement from the service he drove truck for several places including Sunrise.

Tony was humble, giving, easy going, and steady. He loved his family and also their assorted family pets. He enjoyed listening to music, watching television, and going to races with his father. Tony was soft spoken, but lived a vibrant and wonderfully full life enriching the lives of those around him.

Left to cherish his memory, are his daughter, Amy Brummitt and her partner Tehran of Bellevue; stepmother, Peggy Brummitt; brother, Dennis (Nicole) Brummitt; step brother, Tim (Missy) Stewart; niece, Elizabeth (Brad) Mayer; nephew, Dustin Brummitt, and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burnice Brummitt, and mother, Yvonne Smith, brother, Mark Brummitt, and nephew Stanley Brummitt.

A memorial visitation will be held for Tony on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, from 5-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, November 22, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, on his father's grave beginning at 10 a.m. with military honors being conducted.
