Archie J. Greene, age 79, of Hartland Twp., died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, Ohio, after a short illness. Archie was born August 8, 1929 in Hartland Twp, where he had lived most of his life. He was the son of the late, C. Ward & Marie (King) Greene. Archie was a 1947 graduate of New London High School and had served in the Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Archie worked for the former C.E. Ward Co. of New London, T & F Systems of Cleveland, Norb Barman Construction and MJ Smith Construction both of Norwalk. He was a member the Citizens Ambulance Board of Wakeman, past president of Western Reserve Boosters, a member of the Hartland School PTA and was set designer and stage manager for Mayley Waite Dance Academy. He enjoyed happy hour with family and friends, watching Cleveland sports teams, family gatherings, listening to 40's and 50's music and most of all being with family. Archie is survived by daughters, Dawn & Ron Winkle of New London and Lianne & Greg Davis of Plano, Texas and sons, Mike and Robin Greene of Collins and Mark & Linda Greene; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded by wife, Lorna Greene; sister, Irene Gessner; and 2 brothers, Russell Greene and twin, Arthur Greene. Friends may call 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday.
