Arla Ann Olshewski, age 75, of New London, died on May 25, 2024 at Metro Health Hospital in Cleveland. Born February 20, 1949, in Norwalk, to the late Leland and Georgia (Lobenthal) Carpenter, she attended Western Reserve High School. An incredibly hard working individual, Arla would sometimes work two jobs to provide for her family. Most recently she was a silk screener for Kent Sporting Goods.

Arla loved being outdoors; spending time surrounded by nature, especially with her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Larry, who preceded her in death in March of this year. Arla and Larry loved camping, boating, fishing, horse riding, and travelling together. They were truly two of a kind.

Survivors include her children, Larry G. Olshewski of New London, Diane G. Olshewski of New London, and Scott L. (Bonnie) Olshewski of Willard; three grandchildren, Victoria Daugherty, Tony Albright, and Crystal Smeltz; two great-grandchildren, Eliza and Kallen; siblings, Dennis (Diane) Carpenter of Mansfield, Lyn Carpenter of Norwalk, and Carlene Case of Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, Arla was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob June; and a brother, Larry Gene Carpenter.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, OH 44851. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m.. In honor of Arla, the family asks that everyone dress casually.
