Obituary

Arlene Pycraft, 87, of Wellington, died September 28, 2018 at New Life Hospice surrounded by her family. Born on February 22, 1931 in LaGrange, she was the daughter of the late Elton and Thelma (nee Smith) Hurst. Arlene grew up in Wakeman and graduated from Oberlin High School in 1949. Arlene worked for the Ben Franklin as well as the Lorain National Bank. She was an active member of the Pittsfield Community Church. She enjoyed bowling and was on a league in Elyria. Arlene also enjoyed giving her time preparing taxes for AARP. Her family will cherish the ornaments that she crafted for each and every one of them. Arlene is survived by her children Dan (Bev) Pycraft, of Amherst, Diana Pechaitis, of Oberlin, Ron (Beth) Pycraft, of Wooster, Mick (Heidi) Pycraft of Wellington, Joyce Harbaugh, of Norwalk, and Jeff (Merri) Pycraft, of Wooster; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Loretta Bartter, of Marion, Russ Hurst, of Wellington, John Hurst, of LaGrange, and Larry Hurst, of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Albert Pycraft; sons-in-law Glenn Harbaugh, and James Pechaitis siblings Janet Haynes, James and Edwin Hurst. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, September 30, from 2-5 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, a Memorial service will be held on Monday at the Pittsfield Community Church, 17026 State Rt 58, Wellington, 44090, beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Arlene's memory may be given to the Pittsfield Community Church, or to New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd, Lorain, 44053.
