Arlene J. 'Trixie' Schmitt, 78, of Wellington died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain. Born in Olmsted Falls on October 10, 1930, Arlene was the daughter of the late Eloy and Francis Surman. Arlene graduated from Olmsted Falls High School in 1949. She was a member of the Penfield Church quilters and enjoyed gardening and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Donald; four children, William (Elaine) Schmitt of Wellington, Deborah (Frank) Radachi of LaGrange, Jeffery (Gayle) Schmitt of Wellington, Gregory (Lesley) Schmitt of Hudson, FL; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Arlene is also survived by her siblings, Richard, Melvin and Joseph Surman and Virginia Bycznski. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington.
