Art passed away at his home on Wednesday. He was born in LaRue, Ohio to Arthur and Elizabeth (Koke) Deal. He attended Attica High School. Art served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 during Vietnam and received the Purple Heart and many other medals. He retired from Norwalk Furniture in 2008 after 36 years. Art never saw a stranger; he was a friend to a lot of people. He loved his family very much and would help anyone. Art loved hunting, fishing and going to Turkey Shoots. Art loved teaching his grandsons how to hunt and fish. He enjoyed classic cars and used to drag race. Art passed this on to his sons. He went to heaven to be greeted by his son, Jason who died in 2005; his mother and father and brother, Chuck Jaggers. Art leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Jill; sons, Bob (Connie) Deal of Bailey Lakes and Chad (Jeena) Deal of New London; grandsons, Adam Workman and Dylan Deal of Norwalk, Cameron and Tyler Deal of Bailey Lakes, Caleb Deal of New London and granddaughter, Shelby Litle of New London. He is also survived by brothers, Ray (Nancy) Deal of Tiffin, Arthur Jaggers of Ravenna and Don (Kathie) Deal of Attica; sisters, Mary Slone of Monroeville and Ann Marie (Richard) Greathouse of Wellington and many nieces and nephews. We will miss his smile and laugh. When you see a deer or groundhog in a field; smile and think of him. Art's family will greet friends Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Deal family.
