Obituary

Arthur J. "Bud" Needles, Jr., passed away at University Hospitals in Cleveland on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was 86. Born July 15, 1929 in Windham, Ohio, to the late Arthur J. Needles, Sr. and Mable (nee Coakley) Needles. He moved to northern Ohio at the age of 16 and resided in Wakeman for 50 years. In 2004 Arthur moved to North Fairfield and married Margaret (nee O'Dell). Arthur previously worked at Buckeye Pipe Line, the former Thew Shovel Company and Canfield Farms in Wakeman. He worked at Ford Motor Company of Lorain before retiring after 29 ½ years. Arthur was an assistant Scout master for 12 years and a past trustee of the Wakeman Congregational Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughter, Melanie Lockard; stepchildren, William Hansen, Thomas Hansen, Sherry (John) Vanderpool and Colleen (Mark) Shultz; grandson, Nathan Myers; 8 stepgrandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; siblings, James (Dana) Needles and Patsy Baker and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his first wife, Twila and a brother, Donald Needles. Arthur's family will greet friends Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 10 am until the noon service at Eastman Funeral Home in Greenwich with Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating. Burial will follow in the North Fairfield Cemetery.
