Arthur "Dean" Lewis, 64, a lifelong resident of Wellington, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Vermilion. Born on May 9, 1954 in Lodi, he was the son of the late Woodrow Lewis and Irene (nee Spradlin) Rhodes. Dean attended Wellington Schools where he played football and ran track. Dean owned and operated Lewis Plumbing in Wellington for over 40 years. He was an avid sports fan and coached softball, sponsored baseball teams, and followed Ohio State, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Cavs. He will be remembered for his sweet tooth, especially his love of chocolate milk, his love of fast cars, and his taste for tequila. When Dean wasn't working he enjoyed spending time at the beach, riding jet skies, his motorcycle, fishing, or just spending time with his grandchildren. He rarely missed a sunset and enjoyed sharing the experience with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Linda (nee Brattoli) Lewis; daughters Brittani (Stephen) Norton, of Wellington, and Brooke (Chase) Galloway, of Nova; grandchildren Wyatt and Hunter Norton, Boyd, Ryder, Mabel, and Millie Galloway; his beloved dog Harley; sister Jean Cottrell and half siblings Eddie Lewis and Peggy Bowen; niece Tina (Sean) Cottrell-Buga; nice and nephew Matthew and Madyson Buga; aunts and uncles Wilburn and Lula Spradlin, Hurley Spradlin, Margaret and Denver Lewis, and Buddy and Mae Spradlin; mother in law, Betty Rucker; brother in laws, Rick, Greg and Dave Brattoli; many beloved nieces and nephews; Dean was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Dwight Cottrell, his father-in-law Anthony Brattoli, and his aunts Helene and Barb. Friends and family will be received on Monday, May 6, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Penfield Community Church, 40775 State Rt. 18, Wellington, 44090, where services will be held on Tuesday, beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Jeff Braden will officiate.
