Arthur Ernest Roland Gross, age 83, of New London, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk. He was born March 18, 1934 in Tracyslanding, Maryland, son of the late Ernest and Alberta (nee Stocks) Gross. He moved to New London in 1969. Arthur worked at the former Ohio Body, Village of New London, Lake Erie Rail Car Company and Willard Trucking in Nova until his retirement. Arthur was a member and deacon at the 2nd Baptist Church, New London. He was a very social man. Art was a devoted husband who loved his children, fishing, westerns, playing cards and lifting weights. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joyce (Matthews) Gross; his children, William Gross, Vanzarro Gross, Maurice Gross, Arthur Gross, Mark Gross, Jaclyn Matthews, Regina Gross; many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 children, Robert Francis, Keith, Nathaniel and Danette Gross. Arthur was the baby and last of 9 brothers and sisters. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. Elder Dawn Black will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastman Funeral Home on behalf of the family.
