Obituary

Arthur R. Sullivan Jr. died peacefully on February 20, 2010 at the New Life Hospice, in Lorain. Arthur R. Sullivan Jr. was born in Akron on September 11, 1916 to the late Arthur R. and Marie Violet Sullivan. He was the oldest of twelve children. Arthur lived in Cleveland until 1970 when he moved to Wellington. From 2008-2009 he lived in Peoria, IL at St. Augustine Manor near his daughter Nora, last living in the Cleveland area at Berea Towers and Kemper House. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington. He Married Norma Catherine Dymond on June 21, 1941. They were married for nearly 66 years at the time of her death on May 7, 2007. In addition to his wife Norma, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Patrick Bryk and Michael Sullivan, and siblings Robert, Jeanne Forsgren, Joseph O'Sullivan, Thomas, Geraldine Mullen, Raymond and Kevin. He is survived by his six children Arthur III, Mary Bryk, Nora (David) Koehler, Rae, Theresa (David) Schramm and Dan (Terri Meadows). In addition he leaves his grandchildren, Jennifer Bryk(Adam) Hechko, Jackie Bryk, Jaime Bryk (Britt) Vanchura, Josie Bryk, Jodie Bryk, Kate Koehler (Jay) Pastucha, Maggie Sullivan Koehler, Lilly Sullivan Koehler, Peter David Schramm, Jacob Schramm, Andrew Schramm, and Wesley Meadows, plus great grandchildren, Caroline, John and Elizabeth Vanchura, Alexander Hechko, Christian Maynard, and Georgia and Amelia Pastucha. He is survived by his siblings, Loretta Demaline, Larry Sullivan, Richard Sullivan and Noreen Sulzer and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Sullivan graduated from Cathedral Latin High School and served in World War II in the Army's 6th Armored Division Company C. He worked as a Millwright for many years, last working for the City of Cleveland until he retired. He was proud to have served as President of the Northwest Deanery of the Holy Name Society, and the Lourdes Academy Father's Club. He and his wife traveled the world after their retirement and spent many weeks each year abroad. But his favorite time was spent at his small 'farm'' in Wellington. He loved the land and the woods and spent hours clearing paths and making a park like setting for walks in the woods. Friends may call on Tuesday February 23 from 2-4 and from 6-8 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church 512 N. Main St., Wellington, where a mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday February 24 at 11 a.m. Rev. James Reymann officiating. Donations in Arthur's memory may be directed to New Life Hospice 3500 Kolbe Rd, Lorain 44053. Arrangements were entrusted to Norton Eastman Funeral Home.
