Avis Dorigene Stevens, 98, known as "Jean," passed peacefully, to be at home with her husband and sons, on June 13, 2023 in Medina under the care of Miracle City Hospice. On July 9, 1924, Jean was born in Warner, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ray and Clara (nee Broome) Moore. Jean was a 1943 graduate of Wellington High School.

Jean grew up in Wellington before moving to Indiana with her husband, Warren. Following Indiana, she was a longtime Brunswick resident.

An avid camper, Jean was a member of the Good Sam Club. She often wintered in Florida and visited most states in the lower 48. She loved bowling. Jean was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed needle point. Her other hobbies included cooking and baking.

She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Elaine Stevens, of Medina and Mary Beth Stevens, of Litchfield; 6 grandchildren, David, Michael, Jennifer, Suzanne, Colin, and Caitlin, and 5 great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Stevens; sons, Michael Warren Stevens and Robert Moore Stevens and sisters, Roma, Ruth and Lois.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20 from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am Funeral Service at the First United Methodist Church of Wellington, 127 Park Place, Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Medina South Nursing Home and Miracle City Hospice for their dedication and loving care.
