Obituary

Norwalk, Ohio – Barbara S. Carleton, 67, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, February 14, 2020, in her home.  She was born on March 8, 1952 to the late Nola (Reed) and Cart Barnett in Willard, Ohio and spent most of her life in the Norwalk area. She attended Norwalk High School, and attended The Chapel, Norwalk Campus.

Barb was a member of the Norwalk Eagles 711, and she enjoyed interior decorating and had a knack for arranging flowers, she enjoyed antiquing, shopping with her sisters and daughter, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events and dance performances.  Barb's compassion and kindness spilled onto everyone she met, she always took time to listen, and cared about everyone. Her smile was infectious, and her hugs were meaningful and loving, her family was always her priority and she loved spending her time with them most of all.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Stacey R. (Rick) Wolcott of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Trevor T. Ishee (Charlyn R. Friel), and Kaitlyn L. Wolcott, both of Norwalk, Ohio.  She is also survived by her siblings, Anna D. (Lee) Cox, and Phillis J. (Dean) Hales, both of Norwalk, Ohio, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband and true love of 46 years, Thomas V. Carleton in 2015 and by her daughter, Leslie A. Carleton in 1999.  She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Ella Mae Sayre, Roger L Barnett, Riley Barnett, Russell Barnett and Richard Barnett.

Friends may call on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio 44857, and Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel South Campus, 156 S. Norwalk Rd. W. Norwalk, Ohio 44857.  Pastor Todd Nielsen will officiate. Interment will be in Hester Cemetery.
