Obituary

Barbara Lee Fehlan, 69, a resident of Wellington, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic. The daughter of the late Daniel and Jeanne (nee Wait) Tenney, Barbara was born in Oberlin on September 3, 1939. Barbara graduated from Wellington High School in 1957; while in high school she was very active in student activities and received the honor of being crowned homecoming queen. She earned an associates degree from Lorain County Community College in 1988. From 1980 to 2002, Barbara worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School. She was a member of the Literary Guild and was a charter member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and gardening. Barbara also loved to travel; she went on numerous trips to Europe with her family. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Raymond; six children, Jeff Fehlan of Phoenix, AZ, Brian (Jana) Fehlan of Wellington, David (Olga Lucia) Fehlan of Minneapolis, MN, Bruce (Laura) Fehlan of San Diego, CA, Scott (Cassing Hammond) Fehlan of Chicago, IL and Elizabeth (Mike) Becher of Wellington and 10 grandchildren, Hunter, Zander, Lauren, Erik, Kirsten, Alex, Carsten, Greta, Meredith and Sam. Barbara is also survived by her brother, Bill Tenney of Columbus. A private service will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 231 East Hamilton Street, Wellington with burial at Brighton Cemetery. Donations in memory of Barbara can be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church.
