Barbara A. Lewis, 70, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Akron General Hospital. Born on April 27, 1940 to the late George and Annette Mason, Barbara spent the last 39 years in Sullivan.
Barbara managed the Housekeeping Department at the Holiday Inn Express in Ashland. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeromesville. Barbara had a caring personality and was known by many as 'Mom.' She enjoyed supporting her grandkids at all of their events. Barbara always had an open house, whether it was to a friend or a stranger; known as the 'cooker', she always made sure everyone was well fed.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donald; children, Laurie (Gary) Grubbs of Largo, FL, Kathy (Todd) Field of Sullivan, Vicky Shearer of Ashland, Sharon Zalokar of Westerville, Russell (Beverly) Lewis of West Salem and Geoff (Amy) Lewis of North Canton; brother, Lyle (Ann) Mason; 4 stepsons, Donald Lewis, Duane Lewis, Bobby (Theresa) Lewis and Danny (Chris) Lewis; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 23 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service with Pastor Elmer Morgan officiating. Burial will take place at Camden Township Cemetery.
