Barbara L. Montgomery

Barbara L. Montgomery, 86, of Bellevue, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the Willows of Bellevue, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 3, 1939, to the late Ralph and Mildred (Barber) Barre.

Barbara grew up in Greenwich and was a 1957 graduate of Greenwich High School. She worked at RR Donnelley, Pioneer Rubber, and sold Avon products for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed all her glassware she collected and crocheting. She also cherished spending time with her beloved dog.

She is survived her children, James (Susana) Montgomery, and Glenna (Dr. Ed) Hemeyer; her grandchildren, Brandon and Travis Montgomery; her step-grandchildren, Brianna Taylor and Kristyn Hemeyer; and step-great-granddaughter, Rosalee Taylor; her siblings, Brenda (Buddy) Schwab, Teresa (Garry) Boice, LaVonne (Robert) Ayres; her in-laws, John and Helen Montgomery, Cheryl and Larry Fox, and Brenda Montgomery; her cherished friends, Karen Figley and Connie Hackworth; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, James Montgomery in 2013; and her in-laws, Gerald Montgomery, Rick Montgomery, and Joy and Richard Sweeting.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich, OH. Memorial contributions made in Barbara’s name can be directed to The Foundation Church, 535 US St. Rt. 20 E., Norwalk, OH 44857, and Buckeye Hospice, 3379 S. Main St., Mineral Ridge, OH 44440. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Willows of Bellevue and Buckeye Hospice for their compassionate care.
