Barbara A. Parsons, 62, of New London, died Tuesday morning, May 15, 2018 at her home. She was born December 21, 1955 in New London. Barb had lived in the New London area most of her life. She had attended Mapleton and New London Schools. Barb had worked at Kent Sporting Goods in New London as a seamstress for several years and at The Laurels of New London for several years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and genealogy. She is survived by her husband, Freeman Parsons, Jr.; her children, Valerie (Richard) Houghtland, Freeman (Ravyn) Parsons, III, Jared (Robyn) Parsons; 5 grandchildren, Richard Houghtland, Jr., Bethany Houghtland, Riley Parsons, Dylan Parsons, Paige Parsons; her father, Roger Meade; her siblings, Roger W. "Bud" (Angie) Meade, John M. Meade, Mary T. McCallister, Dorothy (Darrell) Sword. She was preceded in death by her mother, Fay Meade, sister, Rose Marie Meade, brother, Alex Meade, nephew, Thomas McCallister. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday with Evangelist Charles Mead officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
