January 28, 1940 – April 17, 2022
Barbara Ann Moore (nee Pitts), of Wellington, died peacefully April 17th at the age of 82. Born January 28th 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was married to her high-school sweetheart, Donald R. Moore, Jr. for over 30 years before his passing in 1992. Together, they owned and operated the White Front Tavern from 1977 through 1995.
She was a wonderful mother, an excellent cook, and a voracious reader. To her children, she instilled a love of music ranging from Beethoven to The Beatles, a love of gardening and cooking, and a "no-nonsense" approach to life. Among her greatest joys in life were listening to her sons playing in a rock band or her granddaughters singing and playing guitar at family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Pitts; husband, Don; daughter, Kimberly; brother, Joseph; and sister, Jeanette. She is survived by brother, Timothy (Carmela) Pitts, of Bainbridge; sons, Kevin (Diana), of Wellington, Sean (Renee), of Columbus, Adrian (Lia), of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Springer, of Brunswick and Karen Pitts, of Painsville Twp.; granddaughters, Katherine(Ryan) Hosch, Elizabeth (Eric) Moore, Sarah Moore, and Rebecca Moore; grandson, Ian Moore; great-grandchildren, Parker, Connor, Lilyan, Vivian, and Legend; beloved friends, Robin Twining of Wellington, Kathleen Marlow of Elyria, and Shirlee Stowinsky of Macedonia; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 21, 2022 starting at 11 am at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, 512 N. Main Street, Wellington. Online condolences may be expressed at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
