Barbara A. Sawyer

Barbara A. Sawyer, 79, of Huntington, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, February 2, 2026. The daughter of the late Charles “Chip” and Stella (nee Shaum) Frederick, born in Ashland on December 1, 1946. She was a resident of Ashland and Lorain counties her entire life. She graduated from Savannah High School then earned her cosmetology degree from Ohio School of Cosmetology.

Barb was a member of the Ashland & Wellington Eagles, the Wellington American Legion and Huntington AmVets. Horseback riding was Barb’s lifelong passion she enjoyed with her late husband, Ken. She enjoyed Western contest, team penning and always rode in the Wellington parades.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Denise Moore (David Wisniewski) and her daughter, Jessica Bouslaugh and Tony Moore and his wife Susan and their children Emily, Eric and Kaitlin, children of Ty (Kecia) Moore, Cody and Austin, and also her two brothers, Larry Frederick and his wife Shirley and Bill Frederick, as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Sawyer and her son, Ty Moore.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 7th from 8:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Immediately following interment, a luncheon will be provided by the Wellington American Legion at 518 S. Main Street in Wellington.
