Barbara L. Young, 96, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born January 16, 1930, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Robert and Louise (Long) Beer.
Barbara was a graduate of Ashland High School and continued her education at the University of Missouri and The Ohio State University, where she was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi Sorority. A devoted member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Norwalk, she served as a Sunday School teacher and remained active in her faith community throughout her life.

Barbara found great joy in sewing, gardening, and cooking for her family. She had a deep love of music, especially jazz. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Mary L. Vincent, William R. (Connie) Young, and Elizabeth Ann Ruby; her grandchildren, Kendall and Michael Vincent; Scott and Jim Young; Ann, Lisa, and Ryan Ruby; 11 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Frank R. Beer.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Stephen Young, in 2005, and her sister, Carolyn Beer.
