Beatrice J. (Merrill) Rounds, age 99, of New London, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. Bea was born January 9, 1908 in Camden Twp and grew up in the Clarksfield area. She moved to San Fernando Valley, California in 1946, where she lived until moving back to the New London area in 1973. She was a 1927 graduate of New London High School. She had worked for Columbia Savings & Loan in San Fernando Valley, California for 15 years. Mrs. Rounds was a member of the Clarksfield United Methodist Church and the New London Golden Agers. She is survived by a daughter, Sonja Bennett of Simi Valley, California; 2 step-daughters, Jean (Howard) Reep of Wakeman and Bonnie (Harold) Smith of Colorado Springs, CO.; 3 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many step great grandchildren; a nephew Leslie Merrill of Medina, and a neice Darlene (Merrill) Valinaki of Mesa AR.. She was preceded in death by husbands, Harry Roberts in 1956 and Clarence Rounds in 1990; a brother, Ralph Merrill; step daughter, Ruth Timbs; and a step brother, Virgil Childs. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Clarksfield United Methodist Church, 5151 Zenobia Road, Clarksfield with Rev. Cathy Ake officiating. Burial will follow in Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery and memorials may be made to the Clarksfield United Methodist Church, 5151 Zenobia Road, Wakeman, Ohio 44889.
