Benny Joe Cruey, Sr., 75, of Greenwich, died Friday, October 7, 2022. Born in Richlands, VA on February 8, 1947, he was the son of the late Emmet William and Gladys Lorraine (nee McGhee) Cruey. Benny proudly served in the Army during Vietnam from 1966-1968. Following his military service, his family moved to Huron County.

He worked as a welder for Superior Coach and Sheller Globe in Norwalk, retiring in 2009. Benny was a life member of the Norwalk VFW.

Survivors include his son, Benny Joe (Alexandria) Cruey, Jr., of Norwalk; grandchildren, Jackson, Aubrielle, and Miriam Cruey; sister, Carol Cantrell, of Norwalk; brother, Larry (Sue) Cruey, of Virginia, other close relatives, and his beloved furry companion, Ferby. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, and his wife, Mary Cruey.
