Obituary

Bernadine H. Mullins, 80, of Sullivan, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Elms Retirement Village. She was born on December 30, 1931 in WV to the late Drexel and Bertha (nee Sumpter) Moore. Bernadine grew up in the Rochester area and graduated from Brighton High School. Bernadine worked for Kimmich's grocery store. She was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and most recently attended the Free Will Baptist Church in Wellington. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching children's Sunday School. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. Bernadine held precious the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bernadine is survived by her husband of 57 years, Derwood; children, David (Brenda) Mullins, of Wakeman, Melinda (Tom) Birchfield, of Wellington, Don (Leslie) Mullins, of Sullivan, Bonnie (Kenny) Pocock, of Norwalk, Dewayne (Judy) Mullins, of North Carolina, and Dana (Mary) Mullins, of Medina, as well as 25 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Peg Radcliff, of Arizona. Bernadine was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Fennel. Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main, Wellington and services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wellington Free Will Baptist Church, 205 Woodland St. Wellington, burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
