Bernice Marie Shepard, 95, of Venice FL and formerly of Wellington, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Born on May 22, 1921 in Penfield, Bernice was the daughter of the late Glen and Wilda (nee Nichols) Richmond. She was a lifelong Wellington resident and a 1939 graduate of Wellington High School. Bernice was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellington where she helped with dinners and assisted with the youth fellowship. She enjoyed music and played the saxophone in high school and was in a dance band, where her stage name was Bennie Rich. She also played the piano throughout her life. Bernice will be remembered as a wonderful cook, a talent which she truly loved. She lived a full life and enjoyed time with her friends going to dances and playing bridge. Bernice is survived by her daughter Susan Manzano, of Venice FL, and dear family friends Margaret Zubrick and Shelley Deakins and their families. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert.
