Obituary

Betty Jean Christie passed away at the age of 74, on Monday, August 27, 2018 in Willard. She was born on June 23, 1944 at home in the Willard area, daughter of the late Robert and Cleo (Wyandt) Boetcher. Betty was a lifelong resident of Willard, Plymouth and Greenwich. She graduated in 1962 from Willard High School. She was an STNA at Hillside Acres in Willard for 5 years and previously worked as a bartender at the Chatter Box and S&W Grill in Greenwich. Betty was a member of the North Fairfield American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing pool and received many trophies. Betty liked watching the Cleveland Indians and loved to fish. Betty was the beloved mother to Sandy Cross, Linda (Mark Marett) Tolliver and Brian (Jamie Beaver) Cross; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Kaylee, Jessica, Thad, Dallas and Jayla; great-grandchildren, Tianna, Arianna, Devin and Aidan and sister, Nancy (Henry) Harry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, James and Jeffrey Cross and brothers, William, Paul and Bob Boetcher The visitation for Betty will be held at Eastman Funeral Home in Greenwich from 6-8 pm Friday, August 31, 2018 and again on Saturday from 10 am until the 11 am service with Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating. Her interment will follow at the North Fairfield Cemetery.
