Betty Mae (McCleery) Deisher, 94, residing in Durham, North Carolina passed away early Monday morning, February 21, 2022.
Betty was born in Mansfield Ohio December 16, 1927, to parents Dwight McCleery and Ilda Ruth (Harmon) McCleery. Betty graduated from New London High School in 1946 and attended college at Perdue and Baldwin-Wallace college for one year before she quit school to marry Walter Hainline in 1947. They had 2 sons, Warren Lee Hainline and Thomas Alan Hainline. Betty and Walter divorced in 1977. Then Betty met and married Wilbur "Web" Deisher, who passed away in 2010. Shortly after Web passed, Betty moved to North Carolina to be closer to her sons.
Betty worked at various secretarial and bookkeeping jobs including 7 years at Jennings Ready Mix in Norwalk. She volunteered for over 8000 hours at Fisher Titus Hospital and volunteered at the VFW post for Friday fish fries with Web. She loved singing in the choir at the Methodist church in Norwalk, where she went on several mission trips with church members. She also sang in the choir at Salem Church in Millingport, NC. She loved flowers and always had flower gardens.
Betty is survived by one sister, Irene Corey, her youngest son Thomas Hainline and Warren's wife Jo Anne Carol Hainline (daughter-in-law), Brett Aaron Hainline (grandson)(Kelly - Brett's wife), Garrett Matthew Hainline (grandson)(Robin- Garrett's wife), Clayton Taylor Hainline (grandson), Jackson Robert Hainline (great grandson) and Charlotte Leigh Hainline (great granddaughter), Tom's wife Susan Carter and her son Andrew Wade, Tom's daughter Koni Jean Brown, her husband Eric Brown, their daughters Jennifer Brown, Stephanie Brown and her great-great grandson Declan Paul Brown. Betty is also survived by her stepdaughter, Beverly Deisher Surratt, her husband, Gary, and their 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wilbur "Web" Deisher, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Richard McCleery.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 10 am until the time of memorial service at 11 am at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
