Betty Virginia Furcron, 79, of Wellington, went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2010, following a long illness. Betty was born in Elyria to the Late Alma Allen Witworth, and Curtis Allen Sr. on September 23, 1930, and lived in Elyria until moving to Wellington in 1962.
Betty was a former member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Elyria until joining the Wellington First Congregational United Church of Christ in 1962. Betty served on several boards within the church, and also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Betty was a homemaker, but worked at EMH for 15 years. Betty was religiously dedicated to her family, working tirelessly making sure everyone's needs were met. Her hobbies were reading, knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
Betty is survived by her husband of 47 years, Morris Furcron, and a daughter, Celeste A. Furcron, both of Wellington. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Curtis Allen Jr.
Friends may call from 4 to 7P.M. on Sunday, January 31, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held Monday, February 1, at 11 A.M. Rev. Brian Burke and Elder James Furcron will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Donations in Betty's memory may be directed to Wellington First Congregation UCC.
