Bill "Billy" Bracken, 67, of Wellington, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Mercy Allen Hospital. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 22, 1947 to the late Samuel and Joan (nee Farguharson) Bracken. A 1964 graduate of New London High School, Billy spent most of his life in the New London and Fitchville areas. After high school, he joined the Navy Reserves. Billy retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of the Amherst Amvets and the New London Eagles. He enjoyed trying new restaurants and had a passion for old cars, race cars and historical vehicles. Billy is survived by his girlfriend, Karen Groves; son, Jamey Bracken of Norwalk; grandchildren, Josh, Jordan and Kaleigh; great grandchildren, Jackson and Jayden; and siblings, Richard (Dickie) Willis of Maryland, Harry Jr. Willis, David Willis and Kathy Serritella, all of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Shannon Cutcher and his siblings, Barbara, Gayle and Freddy. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date.
