Birdie Mae Thomas, 86, of Elyria, died on Friday, October 24, 2025, at University Hospital – Elyria. The daughter of the late Birdie and Maltie (Maynard) Napier, Birdie was born on March 10, 1939, in Ferguson, WV and moved to OH in the early 1970s.

She was a homemaker who loved her family and spent her life caring for them.  Birdie enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and sewing as well.  Birdie was a member of the Echo United Baptist Church and attended the Wellington Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Lynn Thomas, of Elyria; son, Anthony H. (Teri) Thomas, of Elyria; 3 granddaughters, Tori Thomas, Jenna Thomas and Sydney Thomas; great grandson, Roman LaBine; siblings, Billie Joe Damron, of Wayne, WV, and Johnny Napier, of Glasglow, KY.   She was preceded by her parents; Husband, Harold Thomas; siblings, Dorthy White, Chester, Elmer, Lester, Eldon Napier.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington, on Friday, October 31 at 1 p.m.  with Pastor Willie Bias officiating. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements and expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
