Blanche Geist, age 94, of New London, died Friday night, April 13, 2012 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin. She was born November 27, 1917 in Pittsfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Worcester) Green. Blanche was a 1938 graduate of Wellington High School. She had lived in Rochester Twp. since 1948 and had lived in New London Twp. since 2003. Blanche was member of the Rochester United Methodist Church, the Rochester Historical Society, and the New London Grange. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, collecting knick knacks and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Otto (Sandra) Geist, Jr. and Sid (Gail) Geist all of New London; 6 grandchildren, 7great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; her brother, Warren Green of Tampa, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Geist, Sr., brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Ernest Green and her sister, Lucille Webber. Friends may call from 5 ' 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Tina Siroki officiating. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
