Obituary

Brenda G. Turnley, 76, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio.  She was born on November 18, 1947, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to the late Richard Howard and Thelma Lucille (Dingess) Turnley.  She was a graduate of Norwalk High School and later Ashland University.

Brenda was an educator at Western Reserve High School for over 30 years where she taught Home Economics and made many friends amongst both colleagues and students, who fondly called her 'BT.'

Brenda loved dogs. As a breeder and trainer, she won numerous awards at dog shows around the country. Over the years she raised and cared for Doberman Pinschers, Corgis, and Chihuahuas, loving all of them, especially her own 3 Chihuahuas, and most especially Eddie and the recently  deceased Gracie Freebush. In addition to dogs, she absolutely loved everything about Christmas, and enjoyed getting together with the girls to play cards. Brenda found joy in shopping and dining out with friends and family.

Brenda is survived by her brothers, Tom Turnley, Jim (Mary Jo) Turnley, Joe (Jan) Turnley; nieces Julie Turnley, Ashley Bowman, and Annie Miller; and nephews Ryan Turnley, and John Turnley, as well as lots of cousins in and around the Morgantown, WV area.  Brenda is also survived by hundreds of former students as well as numerous friends who were her angels over the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rich, and most recently her niece in-law, Deb Solyan.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
