IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brent Patterson
Herbert
August 3, 1972 – October 31, 2022
When he walked in the room, you knew Brent Herbert was there. A man larger than life yet when you came to know him, he was also tender and gentle. Brent was the kind of person who enjoyed being around people, could strike up a conversation with anyone, ANYONE!, and loved to help those in his life. He lived life to the fullest and that is what he was doing when he was involved in a motorcycle accident, resulting in his death on October 31, 2022.
Brent Patterson Herbert was born on August 3, 1972, in Philadelphia, PA but grew up in Clarkson, WA. He was one of 3 children born to Dr. W. Richard Herbert, Jr. and Karin (nee Mattox) Herbert. Most of his life was spent out west, in Washington State and Idaho. In high school, Brent was a record setting track champion. His record setting continued after high school and later in life he became a dart board state champion.
Brent moved to Ohio in 2002, where he started his life with his wife Jennifer Murphy. They were married that year, welcomed 2 children over the years, Declan Michael Herbert and Delaney Mattox Herbert, both of Wellington.
Brent had a knack for fixing things and solving problems. He used these abilities to start his own general contracting business, H & H Quality Construction. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles Aerie 2051 and was the president of the Eagles Riders. Brent volunteered as a scout leader with BSA Troop 118 in Lagrange for the past 11 years. Harley Davidson was a passion for Brent, he loved riding his motorcycle, and he loved riding out west to Sturgis, SD. He truly was one in a million, he would love to surprise his friends and family with special gifts and showing up for special events.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (nee Murphy); children, Declan and Delaney Herbert, of Wellington; siblings David (Dawn Blacknall) Herbert, of Lewiston, ID and Jennifer (Michael) Roters, of Columbia, SC; niece, Savannah Herbert, and nephews, Gavin, Grant, Harvey and Luke Roters; as well as numerous family and friends across the country. Brent was preceded in death by his infant son Robert "Skylar" Herbert
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, November 5th, from 2- 8 p.m. At 4 p.m. there will be a brief service performed by the Wellington Eagles and beginning at 7 p.m. there will be a memorial service officiated by Rev. Philip Zielinski. Expressions of sympathy and fond memories may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
