Burton E. Coy, 85, of New London, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk. He was born on May 16, 1928, in Greenwich, to the late Marion B. and Bertie (Brainard) Coy. Burton lived most of his life in Olena. He worked at the former Ohio Body, New London, Walcher Grain, Greenwich and the Nickles Bakery, New London. Burton was a member of the Hartland Center Community Church. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and travel with his family. Survived by his children, Sandra (Lawrence) Wetzel of Olena, Carol (Terry) Bell of Wapakoneta, Kathy Schnell of Olena, Edwin Coy of North Fairfield and Marion "Mart" (Diane) Coy of Collins; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and sister, Janice Gannett of Fitchville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Coy and daughter-in-law, Carol Coy. Visitation will be held from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartland Center Community Church, 2750 Court Rd., Collins, Ohio with Pastor Jon Johnson and Pastor Roy Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Olena Cemetery.
